Former Member of Parliament for Eratap Village, Samuel Andrew Kalpoelep, urges the public to stop spreading misleading information about him on social media.
Posts circulating on social media claim that Kalpoelep has been issuing notices to villagers who did not vote for him in the past election, allegedly instructing them to vacate his land as non-landowners.
However, Kalpoelep refuted these claims during an interview with VBTC News, stating that the information is false. He assured residents living on his land that they are safe and encouraged them to continue their lives without concern.
Kalpoelep further clarified that local chiefs are currently addressing the issue within the community.
He also condemned the spread of false information, noting that defamatory statements aimed at damaging someone’s reputation are a violation of Vanuatu’s laws.
