The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Prime Minister’s cup tournament will still take place next month despite the current Parliament dissolution.
The Vanuatu Caretaker Prime Minister Bob Loughman, said in a press conference this week that, the current caretaker government- with the support of the organizing committee, will organize the game “as if the government was still in its full power.”
He is appealing on behalf of the caretaker government to the public to pledge their assistance in supporting the government to ensure that the tournament is successful.
He said Vanuatu is very fortunate to be launching this game for the first time, and it should be done “the right way, the first time.”
Let us continue to maintain our unity and relationship in sports, with our families in Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and New Caledonia, he said.
The event will be held in Port Vila from September 17 to 30.
