George Pittar, one of Vanuatu’s surfers, has spent 10 years developing his passion for surfing at his family’s resort in Eretap.
He has competed in many competitions in Australia, and last year he qualified but was unable to compete until this year, where he competed again for qualification. Last week at the final Challenger Series event in Newcastle, Australia, it was confirmed that he has requalified for the 2026 World Championship Tour alongside the top 36 surfers.
This is a major achievement for the Vanuatu Surfing Association, having one of their surfers reach this level to compete on the world stage.
