Vanuatu Taekwondo will take part in the Youth Olympic Solidarity Taekwondo Camp 2026.
The Vanuatu Taekwondo team of three athletes departed for Sydney on Tuesday this week.
The Secretary General of Taekwondo in Port Vila, Kalfau Kalotrip, travelled with two athletes, Lucette Rosana Tes. The two flew out to Fiji to meet Gama Tom Kaluatman, while James Pita Johnny will join them in Sydney.
VBTC was at the airport as they completed their final check-in and spoke with Taekwondo SG Kalotrip, who talked about Vanuatu’s participation in the talent camp.
“They will attend the training camp for nine days organized by the Olympic team. Training will start this week, and after that they will continue.”
Kalotrip added that after the talent camp, Gama and Rosana will take part in a competition.
For Rosana, this is her first time travelling and her first time attending an international camp and competition.
Vanuatu’s participation in the Oceania Championship will also count towards the country’s ranking.
