Vanuatu beach volleyball team Majabele Lawac and Sherysin Toko are ready for their first overseas competition of the year.
This is one of the major competitions coming up next month in New Zealand, featuring top players at this time. The team started training last week and continued this week towards the important tournament.
VBTC Sports was present and followed the training and fitness session of Lawac and Toko at Malapoa Beach Club in Mele.
The tournament in New Zealand will be the pair’s first overseas tournament.
VBTC Sports spoke with coach Miller Pata, who covered the tournament.
“With our senior teams, they have their first competition in New Zealand next month, and after that a tournament in Australia in March, and then we have some more.”
Miller Pata is the national head coach for the senior team and also the coach for the under-18 girls’ team, who are currently in trials again this week.
The team of Lawac and Toko have represented Vanuatu in many overseas and regional tournaments, and have won many of their competitions.
This year will be another start of more competitions to come, with the first one in New Zealand next month.
