Around 30 staff, including nurses and support staff from Shefa Community Health, are still waiting to receive their risk allowances.
A reliable source told VBTC News that these health workers are based on Efate and nearby offshore islands, working in clinics and dispensaries.
On December 11, the Council of Ministers approved ninety million two hundred eighty-six thousand vatu for over 300 health staff.
The Ministry of Health said each health worker is entitled to 27,000 vatu as a risk allowance with the special allowance.
However, the Ministry of Health responded by saying that the funds were shared among more than 300 staff, mostly at the national hospital, and that those who want to receive the allowance must follow the normal application process through the Public Service Commission.
The source said the group of nurses has an organized group similar to a union, but it is still unclear what action they will take.
