The Reserve Bank of Vanuatu (RBV) has handed over a record VT700 million dividend to the Government — more than double its usual VT300 million target — during the opening of the 3rd Economic Symposium in Luganville today.

The handover was made by RBV Governor August Letlet, as part of the bank’s 2024 performance. This year, the RBV recorded a profit of VT800 million, with VT100 million allocated to support the National University of Vanuatu and the Vanuatu Agriculture Research and Technical Centre (VARTC).

The financial handover was witnessed by Prime Minister Jotham Napat and Deputy Prime Minister Raso Johnny Koanapo, who both used the occasion to emphasize the importance of inclusive finance for national development.

The symposium, themed “Wan Gudfala Envaeromen blong Dijitol mo Green Faenans blong Inclusiv Growth mo Resilience”, aims to promote equal access to financial services and strengthen economic resilience across the country.
