Some commission of inquiry cases will be included in the 10 high-profile matters currently being handled by police.

This forms part of the new Police Commissioner Kalshem Bongran’s plans for his first 100 days in office.

Commissioner Bongran made it clear that the 10 cases are fresh matters that will be brought before court for the first time.

“These are fresh cases — the new cases. Some are from the commissions of inquiry that were just left unresolved. That’s why we’re dealing with them now. They’ve never reached the court yet. Some others are already completed and we’re only waiting for the court to set dates so proceedings can begin. A lot of these files are ready.”
