A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced to prison following multiple theft offenses.

The teenager, John Fred, whose story and photos went viral on social media in 2024 under the name “John 6,” was found guilty of several incidents of theft.

In November last year, John Fred broke into a house and stole a key to a truck. Six days later, he returned and stole the truck.

He was initially charged with one count of Unlawful entry into a dwelling house, and 2 Theft charges.

Just two days after stealing the vehicle, John Fred, along with another 17-year-old boy, Kami Ruben, broke into the store of Minister Samson Samsen, stealing cash and several other items.

Fred and Ruben, you were both jointly charged and both pleaded guilty for another charge of unlawful entry into a non-dwelling house, Theft.

Despite his young age, the court sentenced John Fred to 1 year and 10 months in prison, after finding that this was not his first offense.

Meanwhile, Kami Ruben was also found guilty of theft but received a 7-month suspended sentence for two years.
