Vanuatu Cricket is strengthening its commitment to athlete development, providing education and employment opportunities alongside sporting programs.
The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) has announced new initiatives for players and staff, building on past achievements and ensuring broader participation in professional and personal growth opportunities.
VCA CEO Tim Cuttler acknowledged the challenges posed by last year’s disasters but emphasized that cricket, along with other sports federations, has remained active in delivering its programs.
“This year, Vanuatu Cricket Association has received several opportunities that will involve our players and staff,” Cuttler stated. “We’ve started working with APTC to provide training and education programs here and in the islands. APTC is undergoing changes, but we hope they will become an even closer partner, working with us on our social impact programs, including initiatives against violence and education alongside our Women’s Island Cricket.”
Cuttler also highlighted a milestone for Vanuatu Cricket, with national player Williamsing Nalisa recently competing in Spain. “He is our first male player to participate in a global franchise event. It may not be the kind of cricket typically associated with Spain or T10, but it was a great opportunity for Williamsing to showcase his talent both internationally and here in Vanuatu,” he added.
