Paradise Swim and Arts Academy is extending support to schools, sports federations, and communities by sharing donated items received through its partnership with Carnival Cruise Line.
The academy has received more than 2,000 towels this year, which are now being distributed to groups and organisations that need them.
Owner of Paradise Swim and Arts Academy, Busi Vaconcellos, says the decision to share the donations is about supporting other sporting groups and community programmes.
“Because we are a sports federation, we look at who needs towels, so we give small towels to tennis, 150 towels to the children’s programme, then also to beach volleyball for children, mothers, and people with disabilities.”
Vaconcellos says having a large number of donated towels means the academy can support others, while more donations are expected in the future.
She said tennis and beach volleyball were among the first groups identified because of their work with children, but the academy plans to continue reaching out to other organisations.
“We need to look at which communities need these towels and which sports groups need support.”
The initiative is part of the academy’s effort to ensure donations from major partners such as Carnival Cruise Line are shared across the community rather than going unused.
Momarte School in Port Vila is among the beneficiaries, with students receiving towels as part of the academy’s ongoing community support programme.
