Chess is on display at Alliance Française in Port Vila, with the aim of promoting and increasing children’s knowledge of the sport.

The activity gives children and people who are interested the opportunity to learn more about what chess is and how to play the game, which requires thinking, patience and strategy.

Lesly says anyone interested in learning chess is welcome to visit Alliance Française to learn more and start learning the game.

The Chess Federation of Vanuatu also represents Vanuatu in international competitions and promotes the development of the sport, from children to advanced players.

They hope the display will encourage more children to become interested in chess and start developing their skills through the game.
