A Ni-Vanuatu passenger was briefly apprehended and questioned by New Zealand authorities last week over an envelope that was handed to the passenger at the Bauerfield Airport in Port Vila.

Reliable sources informed VBTC News that the individual was briefly questioned at the Auckland Airport before being released after convincing New Zealand Authorities that she was unaware of the contents of the envelope.
VBTC News investigation reveals the sealed envelope was handed over to the passenger at the airport by an Airport Officer without disclosing the contents.
Instructions that were given to the passenger was to take the envelope to Auckland Airport where a receiver will be waiting.
VBTC News understands the passenger was shocked when the contents of the envelope were revealed after it was opened by Authorities at the Auckland Airport.
VBTC News also received reliable information that another individual was responsible for handing over the envelope to the Airport Officer without disclosing its contents.
Both the passenger and the Airport Officer were both understood to be acting in good faith believing they were assisting someone in need.
VBTC News was informed that some local authorities were aware of the incident but are still reluctant to comment.
