The Ministry of Education believes that HIV awareness is enough to help students make the right choices to avoid the disease.

Director General of the Ministry of Education, Cherol Ala, made the statement during a press conference, confirming that a team is currently carrying out awareness programs in Fiji.

“They can go for early detection or early testing to get early treatment, so that students can live normal lives because it can be prevented.”

Health authorities have confirmed two HIV cases in Fiji.

Stigma and discrimination remain major challenges faced by many students, and DG Ala is encouraging more testing to address these issues.
