The Luganville Municipal Council has elected a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor today.

Hon. John Boe Mavutu, representing the IAUKO group, was elected as Mayor, while Patricia Packet from LPV was elected Deputy Mayor. This marks the 25th leadership team for Luganville Municipal Council.

The election took place this morning inside the Luganville Municipal Council Chamber, in the presence of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Andrew Solomon Napuat.

Both will serve a two-year term.
