A total of 176 students graduated last Friday from the Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) in Port Vila, marking the institution’s first graduation ceremony for 2025.
The graduating students received certificates across a range of programs, including Engineering, Computer Science, Electro-Technology, Business, Tourism, and Hospitality.
In his official address, the Minister of Education and Training, Hon. Simil Johnson, congratulated the graduates and reminded them that their achievement signals the beginning of a new journey as they transition into the fields of trades, technology, business, and beyond.
“This is a new beginning for all of you,” the Minister said. “As you move forward, you must be ready to adapt to the fast-changing world we live in. At the same time, never lose sight of the values that define us as Ni-Vanuatu.”
He emphasized the importance of core national values—respect, honesty, and community—as guiding principles for both personal growth and professional success.
“These values are not just words,” he said. “They must be part of your actions and decisions. They are what will help you work meaningfully with your communities and with the people around you.”
