Port Vila’s Central Business District (CBD) roads will reopen soon following the introduction of a new traffic management plan announced today by authorities.

The plan comes as part of preparations to ease traffic congestion and allow access through town, after months of closures and road damage caused by the December 2024 earthquake.

Road Compliance Officer, Paul Morison, confirmed that the new traffic arrangement is temporary and will be adjusted if necessary.

“This traffic plan is just temporary. If it works, it will stay. If it doesn’t work, we will change it,” Mr. Morison stated.

The reopening is expected to improve vehicle flow and support businesses operating within the CBD while long-term road rehabilitation continues.
