One council member of the Sanma Province has been removed from their position after failing to attend three consecutive council sessions, in accordance with the Decentralization Act.
Varavara Cirillo, a council member, missed the budget sitting during the second seating of the Sanma Provincial Council in November of last year. As a result, the Vanuatu Electoral Commission, in line with the law, advised the removal of Cirillo from his position.
In an exclusive interview with VBTC News, the President of Sanma Province, Hon. Bradley Livo, confirmed that a replacement will be appointed in compliance with the Electoral Act Number 16 of 2023, Part 2, Section 8.
